I’m really sold on the convenience of streaming and casting when it comes to music. However, I prefer buying my music in FLAC or mp3 rather than relying on streaming services, so I have a NAS with emby as the server and Symfonium on my android phone. For now, chromecast is the only one that really worked for me, but the problem is that devices that use it are hit and miss (the discontinued chormecast audio was really the best). I haven’t tried upnp but I’m willing to do it on a raspberry pi with a DAC hat. I also haven’t tried aptX HD or LDAC (not really streaming but still controlled by the phone). Is there anyone in my situation? What are you using or recommending?

Aptx or LDAC is lossy compression inherent to the limited bandwidth of Bluetooth audio. Go UPnP for lossless streaming up to 24/192.
