I’m currently running a set of first issue Telefunken 7DJ8 and a set of Philips 1955 EL34 metal base in an amp. I am thinking about trying to find a set of unobtainium Siemens CCA or the like, but just not sure if they’re worthwhile if I could find them.
Yes and no. In my system I have found the best 6SN7 to be the old Brimar the second are a bunch of American NOS. I haven’t found a modern 6sn7 that sounds better than nos in my system. The best 300b I have had in my system is a modern Takatsuki.
