So I am trying to find another app to stream music from android to Denon AV reciever. I am mostly using Tidal app and the only solution is to use the HEOS app. But I dont know but HEOS app lacks some integration with Tidal app because you dont se so called ‘my mixes’ and the UI is not that… Let say smoth.
Do any of you have good alternatives? I am trying bubble UPnP and it is good but I have some buffer problems. I have used the Airmusic app which is awesome because you can play sound directly from Tidal app but get some weird security message that my screen is beeing shown and the sexurity is compromised. I dont know about the quality of the audio for both apps… Is HEOS better in streamed quality than 3rd pary app?
Really curious how are you handling streaming from tidal through HEOS with Android.
I am using roon to avoid heos. Heos needs work. No radio or Playlist from tidal is pretty stupid. I have heard they working to get tidal connect working at some point.
I tend to use the HEOS app for Tidal but streaming services arent my primary source at home. I use it to find new music and when out of the house primarily. I also have and use Bubble for various endpoints (mostly non-HEOS). For playing back network files (not streaming services) I prefer a touchscreen laptop loaded with JRiver as my “remote control”, far more options than any mobile app.
The HEOS app is ugly and a bit clunky but has great Tidal feature integration IMO. You can also mix sources into one queue which can be handy for comparisons. I don’t believe FLAC above Redbook quality is available via 3rd Pary API… yet.
I can still not figure out how to get bubblepnp setup and running…I switched from qobuz to tidal because I couldn’t figure it out. I must other qobuz though. Any simple guide for bubble with Denon/Marantz?
