I know these aren’t going to blow the roof off of anything but I do love the way they look.

Paper cone HF drivers tell you everything you need to know about these speakers. Looks like they’d make good cat scratching posts if nothing else, kitties love tearing up acoustic cloth.

If the grilles and/or back are removable, the drivers can be swapped and an appropriate crossover installed to replace the originals.

If they work and you like them, you did fine. $10 won’t even buy lunch these days.

Reading this while munching my $13 Hardee’s medium Frisco Burger Combo… thinking vintage audio thoughts 🤔

Hard to tell the scale, are they bookshelf speakers or towers? They look cool, I like Sony sometimes.

I think you paid a fair price. Nothing special here, but if they play music for ten bucks, it’s a fair deal.

Depends, some Sony speakers are very high end, you just don’t see them at your local Sony store. Google Sony’s SSNA2ES and the older Sony SSM9ED.

However these are the cheapest of the cheap,

Those look in pretty good shape and perhaps check the crossover and recap them. Sony’s speakers are okay but not top notch. They might make for speakers for a bedroom system.

Haha Maybe but I have compassion, I wasn’t about to lowball some little old lady who recently lost her S/O so sure, I may of overpaid but I walked away feeling good about the whole thing and hopefully she did as well. 👍

That nice, 10 bucks if you feel good about it, and so does the old lady, that’s great. I was just joking about over paying.

Ah for sure mate, I got your humor, just thought I’d drop some context. I know that anything with paper cones and tiny drivers like these can’t do much but they just have a look I’m going for with my vintage setup. At least until I can find the perfect set of 12” Cerwin Vegas with the orange surrounds 👌

Hey your 10 bucks could turn out to be an awesome deal. Even if they are bookshelf’s, you might have a cool sound.
If not, you can always replace the speakers and use the box if it’s in good shape.
