When I was dating (my now wife) it didn’t take long for her to find out I was an audiophile. She’d always tell me how much she loves music, etc. but knew right away the first time I had her listen that she was not into audio. How do I know? She sat immediately off to the side of both speakers. Anyway, it obviously wasn’t a deal breaker. After marriage however I found whenever I wanted to listen to music this became her queue to run water in the kitchen, do laundry, vacuum the house- basically do anything to make noise. We’ve been married 27 years now and have now come to the point where I “headline” that “I’m going to listen to music later”. She now either reads a book or goes to the other room to watch TV. Still has zero interest in listening with me, even when trying to play her favorite music. I have no “audiophile” friends but have noticed if I’ve ever checked out new equipment in a retail setting ALL of the prospective clients are guys as are the salespeople. Have any guys in this Reddit thread (which I suspect is 99% of you) ever run across a female audiophile?
