Hello,

I’m looking at the Meze Classics 99 vs the 109 Pros. Obviously the Pros are twice the amount.

I am listening in a quiet setting, in the early AM while my toddler sleeps!

Took a hearing test and these were my results. My right ear has some slight loss in the top end. Doctor said if I do any headphone stuff it should be very low. So my question is, is one set better for ear health than the other?

Part of me feels like closed headphones (which I prefer) might be worse as they lock in the sound to bounce around.

I’m looking at the Meze Classics 99 vs the 109 Pros. Obviously, the Pros are twice the amount.

It’s a matter of sound pressure level at your eardrum. So being open or closed doesn’t make a difference in that regard.

The place it does make a difference is isolation. With closed backs, you may be inclined to listen at a lower volume because you’re not trying to overcome the ambient noise of the room like with open backs
