Audio noob here. Please ignore my messy garage. My fiancés dad was cleaning out an abandoned storage unit and came across this set of Monitor Audio speakers, and he just gave them to me. It includes the pair of Silver 9i speakers, Silver FXi speakers, an ASW 210 sub, and a Silver Centre 12i. Would these be good for a future home theater setup? This would be years down the line, as I am not a homeowner yet. Or would it be better to sell these and get new speakers when I build my home theater? How much do you think I’d get for them all?
My new policy to avoid accumulating junk is to sell it now and if I need it later I can always rebuy it. Money doesn’t take up room. I find that usually I don’t need to rebuy the stuff haha.
Sell, buy later
If anyone else is somehow looking for silver 9i I have a pair in the maple finish I am looking to move
Find a used $350 AVR and you got home theater.
Keep them. Wrap them up in plastic and put them in your attic, if you have one. When you buy a H/T, you will need a DVD player/streamer, A good 5.1 (at least?) receiver, a big TV…This is one less thing you have to buy later, and if you haven’t noticed, things are going up. And many of those things going up are also going down in quality.
Wow keep for sure.
I have a MA FB210 subwoofer and it’s an absolute beast of a machine.
