I have a 2ch amp that I will be adding a subwoofer using speaker level inputs to the sub, and my speakers are rated -3db at 52hz. I will be using it for both music and movies. I do enjoy the feeling of LFE and it seems generally the ported subs will go sub-20hz

Are there any benefits of going sealed?

One factor that I haven’t seen mentioned here is that you can run some ported subs as sealed. I have an SVS PB-1000 pro that comes with port plugs and and a setting in the app to run in sealed mode. I run it plugged most of the time and do find it cleans up the bass tightness a bit for listenung to music. When I want to watch a movie or absolutely bump some low end heavy dance music, I take the plugs out. It’s probably a bit of a compromise in sealed mode compared to an actual sealed subwoofer but I find it works well for me.
