So I purchased 2x 5" Edifier MR4 speakers to replace my Creative junk, and they sound great! However, due to my desk setup they are 6" displaced vertically: one sits on my desk and the other is 6" high on my desktop organizer. How detrimental is this split for speakers that I sit so close to?
I tried searching Amazon for desktop speaker stands, but most come in a pair and are quite large for my desk. Thank you!
Not ideal but not the end of the world either.
Don’t fret over it, it’s not as if you’re doing critical listening.
Move the desktop organizer. It is described as near field listening. Assuming they are forming an equilateral triangle with your head, the imaging will be off. It could not hurt to try angling the higher speaker down a bit.
Try turning the speaker on the desk organizer upside down, so the tweeters on both speakers are nearer to the same height off the desktop.
I’m going to elevate the other speaker, but I appreciate the advice!
