What I mean is, I love watching and listening to things from a range of sources, e.g. Spotify, movies, live performances on YouTube, etc.

Currently I listen to the above on my tv but I’ve got two floorstanding speakers on the way (have a reciever already) and I find myself wondering will it makes these other sources of music/audio ‘better’ or will they only shine through movies and good audio quality sources?

Hope that makes sense, thanks!

I’d rather not watch TV if it’s going to be on the built in speakers.

they are Garbage. even a small Bluetooth speaker is an upgrade.

Guys, I’m used to eating McDonald’s 3 times a day but my wife made reservations at a really nice restaurant. Am I going to enjoy eating good food?

Depends on the speakers. But generally speaking yes. I switched 20 years ago, never going back to TV speakers, or for that matter, uncalibrated displays, untreated rooms for sound reflections, etc etc the list goes on.

I even got a measurement microphone to measure and see how the system is interating with the environment and have optimized it for the room. Night and day difference over stock.

Be sure to take the tv output to a good DAC The only thing worse than tv speakers is the onboard DAC

It’s a staggering difference. You were probably not hearing anything below 100Hz or above 10khz, and even that’s being generous. There’s also massive coloration from the way the speakers are enclosed in the TV, in thin plastic.

Please report back when you’ve had a listen!
