I really love listening to Linkin Park and bands that use a really thick, heavy, (in my opinion) distorted to perfection tone in their guitars, yet they completely turn it down in the mix. (ex: Blurry - Puddle of Mudd) I wasn’t sure if I should post this here or in a different subreddit but I saw a similar EQ question asked in this subreddit.
they released the album with a specific mix, thats the way they want their album played. The only thing I adjust is my sub, crossover is all the way down and volume, once I hear the sub over the speakers I back off so the sub is only for impact but not actually heard.
