It’s safe to say the people in here have experienced music at a high level of quality. If faced with the choice would you choose to give up your hearing and live without the joys of headphones or sacrifice your vision to continue in this hobby? Just something to think about. (Not trying to be offensive to the unfortunate ones who are blind or deaf.)

Considering the subreddit you posted under you will quite likely get hearing, i will probably get dowvotted but

Vision, and its not even close, our society is greatly built upon visual stimuli

Even going deaf i would still have an easier time adjusting than going blind, makes me remimd of Sound of Metal (2019)

There’s a reason our society is greatly built upon visual stimuli. It is by far our most reliable and useful sense for making sense of reality.

When I was younger I’d choose vision, but now that I’ve seen pretty much all I need to see for enjoyment I’d pick hearing.

born blind is way better than being born deaf

but losing sight is a bigger deal than losing hearing

Why is it worse to be born deaf than to be born blind? My instinct would suggest the opposite, similar to the second line you wrote .

it’s because you’d have harder time communicating with people, language is a spoken tool before it was written, and sign language is not really as useful for communication you’d wish as it really depends on if others know it which in most cases they don’t

so being born deaf would isolate you a lot, just imagine seeing people talking in front of you and you can’t hear them, it would really feel bad, on the other hand born blind people don’t really know what they are missing out on

I’ve been pretty set in if I lose either I’m going to end it. Recently I’ve had my right ear losing some hearing and suffice it to say I haven’t been handling it well.

My headphones would probably sound even better if I were blind. Less stimuli for my brain to deal with
