Hello — I just moved houses and was looking for some insight on how you guys may set this room up… before this previous set up I was using a 5x6 table… I had way more space and had these krk monitors set up in a equilateral triangle with my ears… (lol) I was in a nice sound condensing basement with no flaws at all…

in this new space — the only room I had some extra space in is a spare bedroom with paper thin walls. It is a decent sized home with tons of echo and all hardwood floors besides the bedrooms being carpeted. (I also do understand that sound will be somewhat more absorbed when the home is furnished) I decided to purchase a new L desk as well… i didn’t not consider the space of the L desk at all in consideration with the speakers and the placement of where they would be.

Room dimensions are 15 x 12

please let me know what you think — it sounds terrible with the speakers up against the wall. I see many posts and forums about speakers being atleast 3 feet away from the wall.

This is giving me major anxiety as it is interfering with the mix qualities as of late.🙄

Thanks for reading !

If you are worried about being too loud for the house you might need to switch over to headphones. If you listen at volumes that don’t carry through the whole house you can get different stands and put them next to your computer monitor. You can still be close and have the volume down so that it doesn’t carry through the whole house. You can have the L desk in the corner and have the monitor in the corner with the speakers on either side.

Looks good. With a stereo setup you want to be in an equilateral triangle with the speakers nosed in and it looks like you did it. Just play with the toe in and positioning but you’re fine
